Hand made paddles from Western Red Cedar and Sitka Spruce
Every piece of wood is carefully selected and only top quality wood is used. Most paddles are made from Western Red Cedar which to many is 'king of paddle woods'. Western Red Cedar has a beautiful deep reddish glow and a high strength to weight ratio. By nature Cedar is resistant to rot and fungus making it perfectly suitable for an oil finish. Most paddles have been finished with a combination of virgin linseed oil and Carnauba wax from the palm Copernica Cerifera. This ensures a natural grip with a warm feel that does not get slippery when wet!
Every piece of wood is different. Therefore the flex, weight and swing differ slightly making the paddles as unique as their user. Hand made paddles will inevitably have minor irregularities in the wood and shape. Every hand made paddle has its own personal expression. All paddles can be sized to personal preferences.
